for code generation it's gotten surprisingly good. not my first choice but solid as a second option
the multimodal stuff is impressive. showed it an image and asked detailed questions. worked better than expected
@throwaway_benj gemini 2.5 pro is way more consistent than 2.0 was. worth retesting if you gave up on it
inconsistent though. brilliant on some tasks and completely off on others. genuinely frustrating
